MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A high school teacher was charged with sexually assaulting a 17-year-old student, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
Alyssa Perry, a 35-year-old teacher at Morris Knolls High School from Rockaway, is accused of sexually assaulting one of her students, officials said.
The investigation began in March when an administrator at Morris Knolls High School notified the Denville Police and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office that Perry had engaged in “inappropriate behavior” with one of the students.

The investigation revealed that Perry had sexually assaulted the 17-year-old student twice at her Rockaway residence between February and March this year, police said. Officials added that Perry had taught the victim in the school and had also served as their tutor.
On June 6, Perry was charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. She is suspended from her teaching job at Morris Knolls High School, authorities said.
