MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — The 2024 general election will likely be a high-turnout year with a presidential race on the ballot. But there will also be local decisions to be made on Nov. 5 in the Morris Plains Board of Education race.

Monday was the deadline for all candidates to submit their petitions to run for local school board this November. Morris Plains Schools has a nine-person board, with three seats up for grabs this year — and it looks to be a straightforward election, with only current members on the ballot.

And though Morris Plains does have a representative on the Morris School District board, that seat is not up for re-election this year.
