Morris Township Police Department Receives Accreditation

MTPD achieved 100 percent compliance with all 105 standards, according to Chief John McGuinness.

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, N.J.– The Morris Township Police Department received accreditation and was presented with a certificate at township council's Nov. 9 meeting.

“Accreditation results in greater accountability within the agency, reduced risk and liability exposure, stronger defense against civil lawsuits, increased community advocacy, and more confidence in the
agency’s ability to operate efficiently and respond to community needs," said Chief John McGuinness.

The Accreditation Program Manager for the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, Harry J. Delgado presented McGuinness with the certificate.
