Police Log: Stolen Golf Clubs, Arson, And Brass Knuckles Among Recent Complaints In Morris County Parks
Morris County Park Police make multiple arrests over the last ten days.

Morris County Park detectives are investigating criminal complaints reported over the last ten days, including a arson on Columbia Trail in Washington Township:
Aug. 17
Officers were dispatched to Central Park in Parsippany on a report of a bicyclist who crashed and injured his ankle. E.M.S. arrived and transported the injured bicyclist to the hospital for treatment.

Aug. 20
$2000 worth of golf clubs were stolen from a vehicle parked at the Sunset Valley Golf Course in Pequannock. Officers collected information on site and have since turned over the case to the Detective Bureau for further investigation.

Officers were alerted to a fire on Columbia Trail in Washington. An initial investigation has revealed the fire to be a case of arson. There are no known suspects yet but the case has gone to the Detective Bureau for further investigation.
Aug. 22
Officers were dispatched to Great Swamp Outdoor Educational Center in Chatham Township on the report of signs being removed from the area. The case has been turned over to the Detective Bureau for further investigation.
Aug. 23
Officers were dispatched to Loantaka Brook Reservation in Morris Township on a report of a medical emergency. An investigation led to a 70-year-old of Morristown being charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Failure to Submit to a Breath Test. That individual was eventually released with a court date pending.
Aug. 24
Officers executed a motor-vehicle stop for an equipment violation in Jefferson. An investigation led to charges laid upon a 33-year-old from Boulder, CO. That individual has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released with a court date pending.
Aug. 25
Officers executed a motor-vehicle stop in Mine Hill. The driver, a 19-year-old from Wharton, was charged with Possession of a Stun Gun and Possession of Brass Knuckles. He was eventually released with a court date pending.
An Officer was conducting a motor-vehicle stop on Rt. 46 in Mountain Lakes when he was struck by a passing vehicle. This vehicle was eventually stopped and an investigation revealed the driver to be an 85-year-old male who was experiencing a medical emergency and consequently driving himself to the hospital. An ambulance was requested and transported the driver to the hospital for treatment. The officer struck by this vehicle did not sustain serious injury.
Officers were conducting a foot patrol of Hedden County Park in Mine Hill when they observed four suspicious persons. One 18-year-old from Dover, after investigation, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Hindering Apprehension. He was released with a court date pending.
Aug. 26
Officers executed a motor-vehicle stop in Jefferson. A 20-year-old from Denville was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was eventually released with a court date pending.
