Suspect Arrested In Morris Plains After Alleged Bank Break-In
Police say 23-year-old Gregory Lucey attempted to break into Citizens Bank at 453 Speedwell Avenue, in Morris Plains.
MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — A suspect was arrested on West Hanover Avenue just one hour after an alleged break-in at a Morris Plains bank, according to Police Chief Michael Koroski.
Gregory Lucey, 23, of Newark, was arrested Friday and charged with criminal trespass and criminal mischief following a multi-agency investigation. He was remanded to the Morris County Jail, according to a statement from Police Chief Michael Koroski.
Police said Lucey attempted to break into Citizens Bank at 453 Speedwell Avenue around 8:15 p.m. Friday, triggering an alarm that alerted authorities.

When police arrived, they found the front doors of the bank had been damaged and called for assistance from surrounding law enforcement agencies, including the Morris Township, Morristown, Hanover Township, and Randolph Township Police Departments, as well as the Morris County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division and K-9 Unit.
Within the hour, police had located Lucey on West Hanover Avenue and arrested him, Koroski said.

Police said the incident remains under investigation, and no further information was made available.
