WATCH: Rescue Team Searches For 100-Pound Tortoise In N.J. Woods

Sulley made a break for it over Labor Day weekend, report says.

They’ll leave no stone, or shell, unturned.

The search is on to track down a 100-pound tortoise in the town of Pattenburg in Hunterdon County, after the reptile busted out of his backyard enclosure over Labor Day weekend, nj.com reported.

Sulley, the quicker-than-you-think tortoise, came to his owner through a rescue group when he was recovered from a South Jersey apartment, the report said.

Sulley’s gotten out of the yard before, the homeowner said during a rescue search, but never went anywhere. This time, the report said, Sulley’s on the move.

The fire department brought in Timmy, a German Shepherd to help track down Sulley.

A video (which can be seen below) by the rescue team shows Timmy signaling to his handlers the scent was dropped after an hour-long search. At that point, according to the fire department’s Facebook post, Sulley is believed to have possibly burrowed or gone into a body of water.

Pattenburg is just west of state parks Spruce Run and Round Valley. If you’re in the Hunterdon County area, keep an eye out for Sulley. Anyone with information is asked to contact 908-930-2558.
