Wire Repairs Impact NJ Transit's Morris-Essex Line

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ - As NJ Transit continues to deal with overhead wire problems, train service will be disrupted on the Morris-Essex line on Tuesday, NJ Transit said.

"Due to extensive overhead wire repairs near Mount Tabor, the Morristown Line will operate on a modified schedule until further notice," NJ Transit said Tuesday morning.

Select trains will not operate and some will be rerouted to operate via the Montclair-Boonton Line between Denville and Newark Broad Street Station (NBS).

Select trains will also make additional station stops.

Train service on the Morristown Line will originate and terminate at Morristown Station.

Customers traveling to and from Morris Plains and Mount Tabor should use Morristown or Denville stations on the Montclair-Boonton Line.

There will be no direct service to Hoboken from Morristown, Convent, Madison or Chatham stations, NJ Transit said.

Customers traveling to Hoboken can transfer at Summit Station or NBS.

Rail tickets will be cross-honored for NJ Transit bus and Newark Light Rail.
