Statewide, the median administrator's salary was $137,219 in 2022–23, up from $133,209 in 2021–22. All of the 227 administrators on the Morris County list had salaries of $150,000 or more in the 2022-23 school year.

New Jersey superintendents report making roughly $25,000 more than the national average of $156,468, per the School Superintendents Association. That’s in part due to the 2019 elimination of a wage cap put in place by former Gov. Chris Christie, which barred superintendent salaries from rising above $191,584.
