5 Things for the Week Ahead

Zen, meetings, "office hours" and more on tap.

Welcome back to the work week, Morristown. For many of you, it might be Day 3 of your weekend, though, so enjoy! You can check this out later if you're taking an Internet fast on your day off.

For the rest of you, here are a few items you'll want to keep on your calendar for this week:

  1. You Need to Know About Zen: Interested in meditation? Curious, but not sure where to start? A longtime practicitioner looking to find a group of like-minded souls? Then, head over to Empty Bowl Zendo, on the second floor of the Church of the Redeemer, Tuesday at 6:25 p.m. Free, but donations welcome.
  2. You Need to Know About Opens Mics and Pizza: What's better than that? Have a hankering for a slice and want to strum on your guitar while enjoying it? Head over to Anthony's Tuesday at 7:39 p.m. (hey, that's what they wrote. Artists ...) for their weekly "Open Mic Night."
  3. You Need to Know About Finding Life After Loss: "Moving Forward," over 8 weeks, brings together trained experts and those who have suffered a loss and need extra support. The sessions, at 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays at Morristown Medical Center, are free but pre-registration is required.
  4. You Need to Know About the Planning Board: It meets this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. Want to know if anything on the agenda is interesting enough to come out for? Check out the PDF included with this post.
  5. You Need to Know About Morristown Patch 'Office Hours:' Have a burning question about Morristown or Patch, or Morristown Patch, that just cannot be answered by email? Stop by Zebu Forno Friday between 1 and 2:30 p.m. for the first of our new series of "office hours." And, hey, we'll have some Patch-branded swag on hand, as well. Win-win!
