Minor Injuries Reported in Ambulance, Truck Accident

Ambulance was headed into Morristown Medical Center at time of collision Wednesday afternoon.

A two-car accident on Madison Avenue in front of Wednesday afternoon resulted in only minor injuries.

The accident, which occurred at about 2 p.m. on March 14, involved a Primary Care Ambulance that was transporting a patient to the hospital, said Captain Dominick Sandelli, who was at the scene.

Sandelli said the ambulance was turning left into the hospital when it was involved in an accident with a Ford pickup truck. It had not yet been determined which vehicle had been at fault, Sandelli said.

The patient in the ambulance received minor injuries as a result of the accident and continued into the hospital, Sandelli said. Two passengers in the pickup truck also received minor injuries, as did one Emergency Medical Technician. All were being treated at the hospital, Sandelli said.

Traffic was being diverted from Franklin Street and Madison Avenue, with significant back up coming from the opposite direction on Madison Avenue. The accident was expected to be cleared before 3 p.m., Sandelli said.
