Man Drowns In Morris County Lake, Officials Confirm After Recovering Body
The 20-year-old was last seen at his home on March 6, according to officials. His personal belongings were discovered on a nearby beach.
ROXBURY, NJ — The body of a missing man was found in a Morris County lake last week, officials confirmed.
Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll and Roxbury Police Chief Dean Adone said on Monday that police recovered the body of Altariq Hickson, 20, at Sunset Lake. The county coroner's office determined his death to be an accidental drowning, officials said.
Hickson was last seen at his Roxbury home on March 6, and was reported missing on March 12, said Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll in a news release. Roxbury Police started a missing persons investigation.

When Hickson's personal belongings were discovered on Mine Hill Beach, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit and the Morris County Office of Emergency Management searched the area. The New Jersey State Police recovered his body on March 19.
While the investigation remains ongoing, officials said the incident has been deemed not to be suspicious at this time.
