Council Candidate Who Lost Morristown Election Questioning Blind Voters' Ballots

Justin Davis takes issue to court, says elderly voters assisted in booth may be an issue, report says.

An election and a recount aren’t enough for Justin Davis.

The Democratic candidate for a Morristown council seat representing the fourth ward lost to incumbent Alison Deeb on November 3, but is now challenging the validity of 18 ballots, morristowngreen.com reported.

Davis has taken the cause to court, naming Deeb, Morris County Clerk Ann Grossi, Superintendent of Elections Dale Kramer, and George Hanley, the county Board of Elections chairman, as defendants in the lawsuit.

According to the report, Davis is challenging ballots by Jim Kutsch, CEO of The Seeing Eye Inc. and his wife, Ginger – both blind – as both were signed for mail-in ballots. The suit also alleges questionable voting assistance to “at least five residents from seniors housing,” the report says.
