Morristown Weather Forecast: When To Look For Rain On Easter Weekend

MORRISTOWN, NJ — As there is some rain in the forecast this weekend, families in Morristown may be wondering if skies will clear in time for outdoor photos and egg hunts on Easter Sunday.

National Weather Service forecasters say to expect a sunny, but breezy day on Friday with highs in the lower 50s, and winds between 15 and 20 miles per hour. Gusts of wind could get up to 30 mph.

There will be a chance of light rain on Saturday afternoon and in the evening, with temperatures approaching the mid-50s in Morristown, forecasters added.

“Some spots may end up dry, with less than a quarter-inch of rain even where showers or a briefly steadier period of rain does focus in around midday through Saturday afternoon,” the National Weather Service said in a forecast discussion.

Sunday looks to be dry and sunny, though, with a high near 60 — good weather for traveling, playing in the backyard, or taking a walk. Garden State residents are encouraged to enjoy the dry spring-like weather while they can, as stormy conditions are likely to come back on Monday.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 53. Breezy, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 34. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Saturday: A slight chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 56. West wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Saturday Night: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
