Extreme Heat Warning In Morris Co.: Here’s How To Stay Cool

Temperatures could reach 100 degrees in some areas, according to the National Weather Service.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — An extreme heat advisory is active in Morris County on Friday, according to officials.

The National Weather Service announced that temperatures could reach 100 degrees in some areas.

The advisory is active from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday.

County officials recommend staying indoors whenever possible throughout the day.

“During extreme heat warnings, stay safe by drinking plenty of water and staying indoors. If you see someone suffering from a heat emergency, call 911,” a Morris County statement read. “Signs and symptoms include: high body temperature (103 degrees Fahrenheit or higher); hot, red, dry, or damp skin; a fast, strong pulse; a headache, dizziness, nausea and/or confusion, and losing consciousness.”

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are expected to peak in the area around 2 to 3 p.m. Light rain is expected to follow from around 5 to 9 p.m.
