NJ.com reported that there had been talks of reopening for over a decade, but permits and COVID-19 put it to a halt.

Fairy Tale Forest opened in 1953 after Paul Woehle, Sr., a German immigrant, decided to build a real-life fantasy. He was inspired by his childhood memories of listening to his mother read Grimm’s fairy tales to him and his 12 other siblings.

According to NJ.com, Woehle’s granddaughter has taken charge of the park’s reopening.

The fantasy land has evolved throughout the years. What started with a few simple cottages has turned into more than 20 attractions down a winding path in the woods. Each attraction depicts a different classic story.
