CASA Volunteers Sworn in as Advocates for Children in Foster Care
Morristown, NJ— On Friday November 21, 2025, the latest group of community volunteers were sworn in as Court Appointed Special Advocates by The Honorable Judge Wright. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Morris and Sussex Counties, is a local nonprofit organization that trains and supervises community volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment.
These 5 new advocates have made an extraordinary commitment to speak up for these vulnerable children in court, and ensure that they receive the medical, educational, and emotional resources they need to heal and thrive on their journey to find permanent, safe, and nurturing homes.
Family and friends gathered at the Morris County Courthouse to watch the group take an oath to perform the role of a judiciary volunteer. The new volunteers: Rosanne Corsetti-Ziogas (Parsippany), Candace Stanton (Kinnelon), Helene O’Neill (Mendham), Brian Deutch (Florham Park), Kate Wade (Madison)
Before being officially sworn in on Friday, the CASA Volunteers participated in an extensive 36-hour training program in order to be assigned to a child in the foster care system. CASA volunteers visit the child regularly, attend court hearings, school meetings, and meet with all parties involved in the child’s case.
