Father Kills Family In Alleged Murder-Suicide In Morris Co.: Reports

A Morris County man shot and killed his wife and teenage son at their Roxbury home before turning the gun on himself, NBCNewYork reported.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Three people were found dead inside a Roxbury home on Tuesday morning, according to a spokesperson from the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

According to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, police were called to a home in the Succansanna neighborhood to check on the residents after a welfare check was called. While there, they discovered the three bodies.

The three people killed have not yet been identified, but according to a report from NBCNewYork.com, it was a father who shot his wife and teenage son before shooting himself.

Despite the fact that the three bodies' identities have not been made public, the Roxbury School District wrote on its Facebook page, "It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of the loss of one of our high school students. The high school administration and staff have coordinated supports and resources for students and staff who may need them."

An investigation by the Roxbury Township Police Department, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office is ongoing.

Officials said the prosecutor's office plans to release additional information on the investigation in a press conference planned for 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 8, at the Administration Building, located at 10 Court Street, Morristown.
