MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A flash flood warning has been put in effect following the forecast of a major storm in the Greater Morristown Area.
According to officials, the warning is in effect from now until 10 p.m. Monday night, as of press time.
"Avoid travel if possible and do not drive through flooded areas," a Morristown Police alert read.

Residents can expect flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses, as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas, according to the National Weather Service.

"Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads," the National Weather Service said in a statement. "Most flood deaths occur in vehicles."

Other areas that may be affected by the flooding include Newark, Paterson, Elizabeth, Passaic, Bayonne, Wayne, Plainfield, Bloomfield, Hackensack, Linden, Orange, Bergenfield, Paramus, Ridgewood, Summit, Lyndhurst, Millburn, Rutherford, Secaucus, and Harrison, according to the National Weather Service.
