The National Weather Service placed the county under a flood watch, with up to two and a half inches of rain possible.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Excessive rainfall may lead to flooding around Morris County on Wednesday with another storm looming this weekend, forecasters said.
The National Weather Service placed the county under a flood watch from Wednesday afternoon through late Wednesday night, with up to 2.5 inches of rain possible. Forecasters said that creeks and streams may rise past their banks, and flooding could occur in urban areas and those with poor drainage.
After rain this weekend and a period of showers on Tuesday, forecasters with the NWS said another round of heavy rain is expected for Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night. Another 1.5 to 2.5 inches of precipitation are expected, and there is a chance of significant river flooding throughout much of North Jersey.
