Free, Covered Parking In Morristown As Snowy Weather Looms
Due to an impending snowstorm, three Morristown parking garages will be open for free beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morristown residents can take advantage of free parking in three Morristown municipal garages during this weekend's impending winter storm.
According to the announcement, the Dalton Garage at Cattano Avenue, the DeHart Street Parking Garage, and the Ann–Bank Street Garage will all be open to the public beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The Morristown Parking Authority said that all cars will need to be moved by 8 a.m. on Monday.
To obtain a parking fee waiver, motorists must present their parking ticket and driver's license as proof of residency.

According to the announcement, non-residents and late movers may be charged fees.
A winter storm watch, which will almost certainly be elevated to a warning, is still in effect in Morris County, where 6 to 10 inches of snow could fall Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
A Code Blue Weather Emergency is currently in effect for Morris County and will last through the weekend as the National Weather Service warns of dangerously cold temperatures in the region, officials said.
The code blue is in place until Jan. 8, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., according to officials.

AccuWeather meteorologists are predicting that this storm will likely end New Jersey's almost two-year-long snow drought.
"Please continue to monitor the local forecast and make preparations now," Morristown police said.
