Free Rita's Italian Ice Welcomes Spring At Morris Co. Locations

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard will welcome the first day of spring by giving away a tasty treat on Tuesday at its locations in Morris County and throughout the region.

The frozen treat franchise is offering a free 6-ounce Italian Ice giveaway in the available flavor of their choice from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. on March 19, the company said. Custard can be added at an additional charge.

Rita's has several locations in the Morris County area:

• Rita's of Randolph (1176 Sussex Turnpike, Unit 2, Randolph, NJ 07869)
• Rita's of Mt. Olive (30 International Dr. South, Flanders, NJ 07836)
• Rita's of Pequannock (225 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Unit C-2, Pequannock, NJ 07440)
• Rita's of Hackettstown (470 Schooleys Mountain Rd, Hackettstown, NJ 07840)

With the giveaway on Tuesday, Rita's is also rolling out a new flavor: Sour Patch Kids Watermelon, a burst of tangy and tart watermelon that will also be featured in gelati and topping Rita's creamy vanilla frozen custard. It will also be offered as an Ice Blender.

Rita’s more than 550 locations are expected to give away approximately 1 million cups of their classic Italian Ice throughout the celebration.

"Our first day of spring giveaway has become a cherished tradition with our guests, and this year, we're elevating the celebration with the exclusive launch of SOUR PATCH KIDS Watermelon Ice,” said Linda Chadwick, Rita's president and chief executive.
