Getting the Word Out About Morristown Sports

Here's how.

The Morristown High School Colonials are looking to snap a two-game losing streak tonight against Morris Knolls. We'll be there. But, we can't get to every sport, and cover every win, lose or draw. Which is why we love it when parents, fans, supporters can help us get the word out about our school and other local sports. Here's how to do it.

  1. You Need to Know About Twitter: It sounds like a small thing, but even if we got tweets about how the volleyball team is doing ("They just won their 12th game!"), we'd let the rest of our audience know about it, too. If you're not already following us, do so over at http://www.twitter.com/morristownpatch.
  2. You Need to Know About Facebook: Not everyone tweets. And, while not everyone is on Facebook, a whole heck of a lot of you are. Another great way to let us, and everyone else, know about our sports teams is to post a note on the Morristown Patch Facebook page (and, while you're there, go ahead and "Like" the page if you have not done so already).
  3. You Need to Know About Email: It almost seems quaint these days, doesn't it? Well, it's still a great way to get us that info. Took some photos? Got the final score? Send it on over to john.dunphy@patch.com!
  4. You Need to Know About Blogging: We already have several local sports teams and associations letting readers know about how they're doing. Want to join them? Then, sign up to be a blogger.
  5. You Need to Know About Texting: It seems these days phones are used more for this than for actual phone calls. So, why not use those unlimited texts to let us know how the soccer team did this afternoon? Call or text us at 973-380-3206, and we'll make sure to spread the good word!
