‘Hands Off’ Protest Against Trump And Musk Set For Morristown: What To Know

Here's what you need to know about the 'Hands Off' anti-Trump protests planned nationwide on April 5, including events in Morristown.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — A nationwide protest against President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and federal budget cuts will hit Morristown with a local rally this week.

Protests are scheduled nationwide on Saturday, including one at Morristown Town Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., as part of the 'Hands Off!' movement. This effort, led by national partners, aims to protest the Trump administration’s "attacks on our democracy, basic rights, and power overreach."

“We are new to organizing a rally, but we knew that this moment in the great American story requires courage and engagement from everyone, and we decided that now is the time to come together to rally our community and fight for our freedoms,” said Dana Levens and Cendahl Cornellio-Alter, the organizers of the Morristown HandsOff! event.

Speakers will include leaders, experts, and individuals whose lives have been impacted by the destruction of livelihoods, the gutting of public services, and the bullying and fearmongering rhetoric, officials said.

“A core principle behind Hands Off! is a commitment to nonviolent action,” organizers added. “We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.”

Anyone interested in joining the protest is invited to stop by Town Hall at 200 South St. To register, click here.
