High Ranking For Morristown Medical Center In 'Best Hospitals' Report

Morristown Medical Center was nationally-ranked in four specialties, and listed as the second-best hospital in New Jersey.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morristown Medical Center achieved high marks in the latest Best Hospital rankings from U.S. News and World Report, including being named the second-best hospital in the state.

This year's Best Hospitals report evaluated more than 5,000 hospitals, based on their performance across 30 medical and surgical services, and ranked them by state and by region. The publication also ranked hospitals within certain specialties— including cancer care, cardiology, neurology/neurosurgery, rehabilitation, orthopedics, urology, and more.

Morristown Medical Center, which is part of the Atlantic Health System, was named the top hospital for orthopedic care in all of New Jersey and also ranked 16th nationally in orthopedics. Other national rankings Morristown received included urology (No. 31), gastroenterology and GI surgery (No. 44), and cardiology, heart, and vascular surgery (No. 49).

The hospital was also marked high-performing in three adult specialties and for 19 procedures and conditions, and came in 11th in the New York City metro area.

Hospital president Trish O'Keefe said she was incredibly proud of the staff at Morristown Medical Center for their accomplishments.

"This recognition highlights our exceptional team of medical, clinical, and support professionals who are among the very best in the nation."

To calculate the 2024-2025 Best Hospitals for the Honor Roll, specialty and region, U.S. News evaluated each hospital’s performance using a variety of measures. Data came from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, American Hospital Association, professional organizations, and medical specialists. The Procedures & Conditions ratings are based entirely on objective patient care measures.
