Hit-And-Run Victim ID'd As Morristown Man
On Saturday night, a hit-and-run driver killed a 40-year-old pedestrian near the Morristown train station.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — Authorities have identified a pedestrian who was killed by a hit-and-run driver near the Morristown train station this weekend.
Francis Alvarado-Trejo, 40, of Morristown, was hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Lafayette Avenue and Lackawanna Place shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday, according to Morris County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Paul Merkler.
The driver, Jermaine Edwards, 51, was charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll.

Edwards has since been taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing, Carroll said.
