I-287 Buckles—Again—As Heat Wave Causes More Damage: UPDATE
The road buckle comes just hours after the roadways were repaired from Tuesday's incident, police said.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A second road buckle has occurred on 287 south near milepost 52, south of Exit 52/Rt 23 in Pequannock , due to the extreme heat wave. Police were dispatched around 3 p.m. on Wednesday to assist with traffic direction.
All lanes were shut down around 4 p.m., according to DOT officials.

According to officials, the right lane and shoulder were opened around 4:45 p.m.
The left and center lanes remained closed as of 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. It is not yet clear when the lanes will reopen, according to NJDOT representatives.

Officials noted that "this is not the same location that was damaged yesterday and repaired, although it is nearby."
More information will become available as it's released.
This comes hours after the road was repaired following an initial road buckling incident that occurred Tuesday afternoon.
