I-80 Lane Closures This Weekend: See Where
The closures are due to $16.4 million maintenance project to repair roadways across North Jersey.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Lanes of I-80 are expected to close this weekend, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
I-80 westbound Exit 34B/Jefferson/Sparta will be closed and detoured on Friday night for “routine concrete bridge deck repairs” in Wharton, Morris County.
Exit 35B is expected to be closed Friday night starting at 11 p.m., until Saturday morning around 6 a.m.

Additionally, Route 15 northbound right and center lanes will be closed on the Bridge over Green Pond Brook at Milepost 2.3, where traffic from the I-80 westbound Exit 34B ramp merges with Route 15, officials said. The left lane of Route 15 will remain open, according to NJDOT authorities.

- Motorists on I-80 westbound wishing to take Exit 34B to Route 15 North/Jefferson/Sparta will be directed to take Exit 34A/Route 15 South/Wharton
- Keep right on Route 15 southbound
- Turn right on East Dewey Avenue
- Turn right on North Main Street
- Stay in the right lane and follow signs for Route 15 North/Picatinny Arsenal
- At the traffic signal, merge onto Route 15 northbound
The roadwork is part of a $16.4 million state-funded maintenance project that will make structural repairs in several locations throughout Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union and Warren counties, NJDOT authorities said.
