Man Charged With Sex Assault Of Morris Co. Teen

Joseph Guzman, 42, has been charged with sexually assaulting his 16-year-old employee at a Morris County salon.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A Morris County man was arrested after police say he sexually assaulted an underage teenage girl who worked for him, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll announced.

Joseph Guzman, 42, of Mount Olive, was charged with one count of second-degree sexual assault of a victim who was at least 16 years old but less than 18 years old, where the defendant had supervisory power over the victim, one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and four counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact.

According to police, on Aug. 10, Guzman sexually assaulted his sixteen-year-old employee at Joseph Vincent’s Salon in Mount Olive. Guzman was the victim’s employer and supervisor at the salon, Carroll said.

Guzman was arrested on Nov. 23, 2022, following an investigation that was carried out by the Mount Olive Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

Following a detention hearing on Nov. 28, 2022, Guzman was released from custody under pre-trial monitoring, which includes no unsupervised contact with minors
