'Mary Poppins' Lands On Morristown High School Stage This Weekend
In the spirit of the song "Feed the Birds," the high school theater company is partnering with nonprofit organization the Raptor Trust.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — The magic of "Mary Poppins" is alive in Morristown this weekend, as the High School's theatre company prepares to bring the stage version of the classic film to life.
And in the spirit of caring for others, the theatre group is partnering with a non-profit organization that cares for injured, sick, and orphaned wild birds. Tickets are available for all four shows Friday-Sunday, but some times are limited. Prices run from $8 to $15.
"Disney and Cameron McIntosh‘s contemporary take on this classic story, features an enchanting mixture of irresistible storytelling, unforgettable songs, breathtaking dance numbers, magic, mayhem, a touch of wit, and a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious time for all," the theatre company said.

Performances are as follows:
- Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m.
- Saturday, March 23 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
- Sunday, March 24 at 2 p.m.
There is also a special tea party with Mary Poppins and Bert before the Saturday and Sunday matinees, where young theatre-goers can enjoy "tea and biscuits" while joining in some fun activities. The cost is $5 per child.

MHS Theatre is also partnering with The Raptor Trust of Millington to gather supplies to help the group care for wild birds and fill the "birdhouse of kindness" in the lobby.
Throughout the story, Mary encourages the Banks children to look outside themselves, and to appreciate everything in life. The song “Feed the Birds” emphasizes the importance of protecting and caring for birds and others in need, the theatre group said.
The Raptor Trust is in need of these items for its daily operations:
- Tissues (unscented without lotion)
- Paper towels (select-a-size)
- Towels (without frayed edges)
- Reams of standard 8 ½ x 11 copy paper (blue, white, and yellow)
- Corn meal
- Apples
- Grapes & blueberries
- Eukanuba Small Breed Puppy Chow
- Small block suet
- Peanuts (unsalted without shells)
- Birdseed (any and all)
- Gallon jugs of distilled water
- Heating pads (not auto-off!)
- Plastic cat and dog food bowls
- Newspaper (no colored ads please)
- Gift Cards to supermarkets or pet stores
- Artificial Christmas trees (No lights, decorative spray, tinsel or decorations please)
