Missing Gold Piece From Morris Church Found - Inside Church: Report
Pastor believes monstrance may have been returned on Thanksgiving, report says.

The guilt may have been too much.
A gold and silver monstrance, valued at $10,000, was allegedly stolen from the St. Thomas More Church sometime between Nov. 18 and 19, according to the Morris County Sheriff’s Office.
Over the Thanksgiving weekend, however, the monstrance, which holds the Eucharist during Benediction, was found inside its case in a church closet, dailyrecord.com reported.

The Convent Station church reported the monstrance missing, along with cash from the donation box. A $1,000 reward was offered for information leading to an arrest by the Morris County CrimeStoppers, which believed the piece was headed for a pawn shop.
Father Joe at the church cleaned out a closet on Wednesday and did not see the missing vessel, the report said. The church doors were opened on Thanksgiving Day for a few hours, and just before Mass on Saturday, the pastor said he found the monstrance inside its case in the same closet, the report said.
