Missing Messiah Under Investigation In Morristown
The baby Jesus has been taken from the Morristown Green nativity display.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Authorities have announced that the baby Jesus statue was stolen from a church nativity scene on the Morristown Green.
According to Morristown Captain Keith Cregan, the local police department recently received confirmation from Alice Cutler, a trustee for the Morristown Green, that the piece is missing and presumed stolen.
"It is an active investigation so I don’t have any more details I can share at this time," Cregan told Patch.

Vandalism of nativity scenes is not a new problem; in 2018, statues of Mary and the baby Jesus were stolen from Saint Augustine of Canterbury Roman Catholic Church in South Brunswick; a similar theft also occurred in 2020 in Buckingham Township, Pennsylvania.
