Morris County Sheriff's Office Disposes of Over 1,000 Pounds of Unwanted Meds

The agency collected and destroyed 1120 pounds of unwanted prescription medicine as part of its 22nd "Medication Burn" program.

MORRIS COUNTY, N.J.– The Morris County Sheriff's Office recently disposed of 1120 pounds of unwanted prescription medicine as part of its 22nd "Medication Burn" program, Detective Lt. Bruce Dunn said.

The disposal program is a partnership between the prosecutor's office, county law enforcement agencies and Morris County Prevention, Dunn said.

Members of the Sheriff's Office collect unwanted medications to permanently destroy them to
prevent abuse, he added.
