Morris Freeholders Raise Awareness For Hunger, Homelessness

MORRISTOWN, N.J.– The Morris County Board of Freeholders proclaimed November as Hunger and Homelessness Month.

The proclamation "[calls] attention to the county’s neediest residents, especially during the holiday season, and asking all county residents to do what they can to help their less fortunate neighbors," Morris County Communications and Digital Media Manager Larry Ragonese said.

"This is a time for us all to think about what we are thankful for, a perfect time to share compassion with our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness, and to works towards a world where none of our county residents have to experience homelessness and hunger," said Deputy Freeholder Director Hank Lyon.

Representatives from Market Street Mission, Mental Health Association of Morris County, Family Promise of Morris County, St. Clare’s Hospital, the Interfaith Food Pantry, and Homeless Solutions, and the Morris County Department of Human Services and Morris County Continuum of Care on accepted the proclamation on Monday.
