Morristown Bids Farewell To Beloved Eatery After 20 Years
One customer called the establishment's closing "a terrific loss for Morristown" on social media.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — A family-owned Italian restaurant that has operated in Morristown for 20 years has officially closed its doors.
Guerriero’s, located at 90 South Street, permanently closed down this past weekend. The Italian eatery had a special place in several Morristown residents’ and visitors’ hearts (and stomachs).
“It was not an easy decision, but one that is right for our family at this time,” a Guerriero’s social media post read. “We will miss the friends that we weren’t able to say goodbye to this weekend. But, we will still be in Morristown and around, so we hope to see you soon.”

Opened by Jack and Leigh Guerriero two decades ago, the establishment served as a hub for families and friends alike to enjoy traditional Italian bites. Their daily specials included savory delicacies like mushroom ravioli, rigatoni portillo, and much, much more.
One of the highlights of the Guerriero’s career was when TV star and Paterson resident Federico Castelluccio stopped in for dinner, best known for portraying Furio Giunta on HBO’s “The Sopranos.”

“There will never be another Italian restaurant as genuine and homemade as this one,” a customer wrote on Facebook. “This was one of the last mom and pop establishments in Morristown, a place where you can walk in and feel like family… Guerriero’s will always be remembered, years from now people will still be saying they miss this place.”
Another customer called the establishment’s closing “a terrific loss for Morristown,” as he wished the Guerrieros the best of luck.
“We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for coming in and having dinner with us,” the Guerriero’s statement read. “We also thank you very much for supporting us through the years.”
