MORRISTOWN, NJ — The community is coming together to support a Morristown woman who was severely injured in a car accident last week.

A GoFundMe has been launched to support Dawn Marie Graham-King, a woman who was involved in a serious car crash on Aug. 27.

According to King’s husband, Teru, Dawn was driving to get an oil change when another car ran a red light and slammed into her vehicle.

The crash left King with severe injuries after the airbag crushed her hand, wrist, and forearm. According to King’s husband, she has multiple fractures, and because there was a sharp bone on the nerve, emergency surgery was needed.

Due to insurance issues, King’s medical bills are stacking up as more and more procedures are needed.

“These funds will help with a rental car or car services to and from therapy, medical bills, and meals. She has a metal plate surgically installed for 3 months, where it will stabilize the shattered pieces,” the GoFundMe reads. “She will then go back for another surgery to remove the plate, but the other hardware will stay. She can then start physical therapy. She will have a long road to recovery, but we don’t want her to worry about unexpected medical expenses.”

So far, the GoFundMe has raised more than $4,000 to help King and her family cover related expenses.

Community members have also helped the Kings by donating groceries and gift cards to assist them during this time.
