Morristown Housing Authority Commissioner Reappointed By Council
The authority's vice chairwoman will serve another five-year term.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — A Morristown Housing Authority commissioner has been reappointed to her position by the Morristown Council.
Nohemy Zabala, who serves as the authority’s vice chairwoman, will serve another five-year term as a housing authority commissioner, set to expire on Sept. 4, 2030.
During its Aug. 5 meeting, the Morristown Council voted for the appointment under the ‘new business’ section of the agenda. Council President Nathan Umbriac recommended Zabala to keep her position.

Zabala’s reappointment was passed with a 6-1 vote, with Councilman Robert Iannaccone voting against the appointment.
The Morristown Housing Authority, established in 1952, serves as an equal housing opportunity agency that provides housing options to low to moderate-income local families and senior citizens.

“We aspire to instill a sense of pride in those who reside in our developments while working to enhance their quality of life,” a statement read. “The Housing Authority administers the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Project-based voucher program for 270 senior apartments, 200 family apartments, and 140 Tenant-based vouchers.”
