Morristown Medical Center Employees Train For Mass Casualty Incident: Report
Over 50 Morristown Medical Center employees tested the hospital's external triage unit, the Daily Record reported.

MORRISTOWN, N.J.– Morristown Medical Center employees trained for a mass casualty incident, testing out the hospital's external triage unit, the Daily Record reported.
A Western Shelter System – two large tents maintained by the Office of Emergency Management and the Office of Health Management – was set up outside the hospital, according to the Daily Record story.
The system would be set up in the external triage unit in the event of a mass casualty incident, the Daily Record reported.

Equipment, including beds, monitors and medication carts, were brought in and the hospital staff acted as patients, the Daily Record reported.
The exercises in last week's drill included testing for a flu pandemic and SARS, according to the Daily Record.

“It is critical for Morristown Medical Center, especially as it is a trauma center, meaning it is equipped to handle the most seriously injured patients, to be able to provide care to our communities in all
situations,” Beata Dumala, emergency preparedness manager for
Atlantic Health, told the Daily Record. “This drill showed us that even in situations where we may have an influx of patients, that we are properly prepared, trained, and skilled in working in this unit.”
