Morristown Native Murdered By Her Own Son: Cops

Christa Lassiter Lee was 58 and a member of Morristown High School's class of 1975.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - A New Jersey native living in North Carolina was murdered by her own son on Sunday, police said.

Christa Lee, 58, a Morristown native, was murdered by her son, Brandon Lee, 34, who allegedly confessed the crime to a dispatcher, Cary, North Carolina police said. Brandon Lee also allegedly confessed to killing his girlfriend, 28-year-old Krystal Juell Hylton, police said.

Christa Lee, whose maiden name is Lassiter, is a Morristown High School alum who graduated in 1975, according to morristowngreen.com, and had attended her class’s 40th anniversary reunion just two months ago.

Christa Lee grew up in Morristown and her father, Dr. James Lassiter, was a dentist in town, the report said.

She was interviewed earlier this year by soultrain.com after spending a few months living in California while attending Pepperdine and dancing on the show alongside her twin sister, who was tragically killed in a 1983 car crash.

Brandon Lee is being held without bond and has been charged with double homicide, police said. Murder in North Carolina is punishable by death or life imprisonment without parole.
