Morristown Temple Hosting First Annual 5K Fun Run/Walk

Temple B'nai Or's 'Temple Trot' is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Thomas Jefferson Elementary.

MORRISTOWN, N.J.– Temple B'nai Or of Morristown will hold its first annual Temple Trot on Sunday.

The 5K Fun Run/Walk is slated for 9:30 a.m. at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School (101 James Street).

"The run was conceived to provide a healthy way to do mitzvah work (charity) to support Temple programs in the Morristown community, as well as tikkun olam, the Jewish value of repairing the world, with an
organization outside of Temple B’nai Or," said Executive Director Wendy Gottsegen.

Participants are welcome to walk or run with their dogs, Gottsegen said.

For those who register with their furry friends, the temple will donate $5 to Sochi Dogs Rescue, a Morristown-based international dog rescue founded by the mother-daughter duo of Tanya and Anna Umansky, according to Gottsegen.

Runners begin at 9:30; walkers 10 minutes later.

The cost is $25 for adults, $20 for kids under 13.
