Nancy Kerrigan Skating In Morristown With Fellow Olympians, Stars Of The Sport

The Ice Dreams 2022 National Tour, which will hit Mennen Arena, features 2022 Olympians and American medalists.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — While the young athletes representing the future of figure skating never got to witness Nancy Kerrigan compete live, they'll get to see the Olympic medalist up close in Morristown. Kerrigan headlines the Ice Dreams 2022 National Tour, which will hold a show at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Mennen Arena.

The tour's slate also includes several American medalists, including Gracie Gold (bronze in 2014 Olympics, team event), Polina Edmunds (national silver medalist in 2014 and 2016, 2014 Olympian) and Jeremy Abbott (bronze in 2014 Olympics, team event).

The youngest viewers may recognize Ashley Cain-Gribble and Timothy Leduc. The pair became U.S. champions in 2019 and this year and also skated in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. LeDuc also made history as the first openly gay skater to win the pairs title at the U.S. Championships and the first openly nonbinary athlete to qualify for the Winter Olympics.

Kerrigan, 52, earned a bronze medal in the 1992 Winter Olympics and a silver medal in the 1994 games. But to most, she's best known as the victim of a police-baton assault on her landing knee.

Jeff Gillooly — the ex-husband of fellow Olympian Tonya Harding — hired the attacker, bringing a seismic figure-skating scandal to the limelight in 1994. Kerrigan recovered quickly and took silver at the winter games.
