New Designated Driver Program Comes to Morris County

StearClear, a Wyckoff-based smart driving company, brought its designated driver service serving Morristown this past January and last month, they expanded their service to the entire Morris County area, said Joshua Heffler, StearClear of Morristown franchise owner.

“Everyone involved in StearClear shares a common concern about the health and safety of our communities,” Heffler. “We are hopeful that through this business venture we can help reduce the number of impaired drivers on the road and save lives.”

Scheduling a ride in the Morristown area is simple. You can either call (862) 345-6340 or log into the StearClear smart phone app to register and/or schedule a ride.

A drive team of two people will arrive at your location; one drives you home in your car while the other follows to pick up the first driver and transport him or her to the next assignment.

The mileage and ride cost is automatically calculated prior to placing an order so you know exactly how much you’ll be charged. Rates are $25 per pickup plus $2.65 per mile.

“Through our StearClear service, you can schedule a driver and a ride home for you and your vehicle either before…or while… you are out,” said Stephen Chassen, vice president of sales for StearClear of Morristown. “Our service is unlike a taxi service in that you are driven home in your own vehicle so you don’t have the headache and inconvenience of going back the next day to get your car.”

StearClear is managed locally by franchises that hire drivers and provide customer service within their own communities. In New Jersey, the service is currently operational in Bergen, Hudson, Morris, Somerset, Union and Mercer counties.
