Morris Co. Train Catches Fire On Tracks, Transit Officials Say
Crew members were forced to evacuate the train due to the blaze, officials said.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — An engine carrying a freight train caught fire this weekend, according to NJ Transit officials.
On Sunday, around 6:45 p.m., an NJ Transit engine pulling a freight train caught fire near the Port Morris Yard in Ledgewood, officials said.
According to authorities, crew members evacuated the engine safely, and no injuries were reported. No customers were on board at the time of the fire, officials added.

The flames were put out by Roxbury firefighters. It’s not clear at this time what started the fire.
NJ Transit services were not impacted by the blaze, officials said.
