Oktoberfest Planned For Saturday Amid Tropical Storm In Morristown

MORRISTOWN, NJ — After three years of cancellations, Hillside Hose Company's annual Oktoberfest will continue despite the forecast of rain.

The Oktoberfest community event will still take place on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., according to members of the Hillside Hose Company.

This fun-filled day will include quality beer, great music, German food, raffles, merchandise, and more at the Hillside Firehouse, located at 132 Western Avenue in Morristown.

"Latest forecasts show rain moving out of the area before start time. We have tents for passing showers and our beer truck is waterproof," officials said.

Families are encouraged to attend Oktoberfest, which is open to residents of all ages.

Hillside Hose Company No. 1 was founded in 1914 by local residents and now serves as Morris Township Fire Department Station 3. The Morris Township Fire Department is made up of five stations.

"We look forward to seeing you there," Hillside Hose Company said.
