Police Chief: My Guys Worked the Pile
Peter Demnitz honors Morristown officers who went to Ground Zero on Sept. 11, 2001.
They came out of it a little different. They probably don't want to talk about it. They probably don't want to even be recognized for what they did. But, it's time that they were.
That was the sentiment of Morristown Police Chief Peter Demnitz, who recognized nine officers on Thursday, Sept. 8, during an appointment and promotion ceremony at the Hyatt Morristown.
The recognized officers, some of which were not in attendance because they are currently deployed military personell, are: Capt. Michael Ubertaccio; Capt. Steven Sarinelli; Lt. James Cullen; Det. Sgt. Stuart Greer; Det. Richard Lamperti; Det. Brendan Briscoe; Officer Brian McDonnell; Officer Adam Khoudja; and Officer Scott Weaver.

"When NYPD said you're not getting on the barge, my cops got on the barge, and they worked the pile," Demnitz said during the ceremony. "I think the biggest round of applause should be for these gentleman right now."
Six new officers were also officially appointed during the ceremony, bringing Morristown's police force up to 54. They are: Robert Iozzia; Scott Pino; Jermaine Marbley; Roberto Rosado; Christopher Ravallese; and Kevin Kunzig.
