Police Officer Hit By Car In Morristown: Police

Police say the officer sustained minor injuries.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — A Morristown police officer was hit by a car Thursday evening, police said.

Dennis Bergman, a 14-year veteran, was hit while directing traffic on South Street and Madison Avenue around 7:20 p.m., police said. He was directing traffic in the area during emergency utility work.

Police say Bergman was struck by 43-year old Harold Kofman of Morristown, who was driving a Toyota Camry. Bergman was evaluated for minor injuries at Morristown Medical Center and released.
