Power Outage Affecting Morris County Residents
There is no estimated time frame for restoration at this time, police said.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — Power outages impacted several residents throughout parts of Morris County on Monday morning, according to authorities.
According to a statement from the area's electric provider, Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L), power has been officially restored to all affected customers.
The outage was caused by a high-voltage transmission line trip, which feeds substations, which then step down the voltage to the distribution level, which is what is delivered to homes and businesses, JCP&L spokesperson Chris Hoenig said.
