Predicted Freezing Rain Brings Winter Weather Advisory In Morris Co.
Ice forming on roads, sidewalks, and bridges could make for a slippery commute Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, said forecasters.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Forecasters say freezing rain and accumulating ice could make for messy travel around Morris County as precipitation moves into the area, continuing Tuesday night and into Wednesday.
A winter weather advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday in the county and some higher elevations may even see some snow, per the National Weather Service. Sussex County, western Bergen County, and western Passaic County are also under advisories.
Light freezing rain is possible Tuesday afternoon, as well as in the evening and overnight into Wednesday.

"Freezing rain mixed at times with sleet and even a little snow can be expected at the highest elevations in the northern part of the county, with a change to rain likely for a time this afternoon in the lower elevations before a change back to a wintry mix at night," NWS forecasters said Tuesday morning.
Total ice accumulations of one-tenth of an inch are possible over the highest terrain in the northern part of the county, possibly limited to several hundredths of an inch in other parts. However, forecasters said even a little ice could still make for slippery sidewalks, roads, and bridges during the morning and evening commute.
