Question: Would New Banking Fees Prompt You to Switch?

Bank of America will install $5 monthly debit card fees in 2012.

It's an old cliche that unfortunately can be true: pay more, get less. Peanuts are gone from flights (however the beverage cart thankfully remains, for now). Depending on which direction you're driving on the Garden State Parkway, you might have to pay $1. And, let us not go into the costs for driving into New York.

Now, banking is becoming more expensive. Several banks have recently begun charging users fees if they take money from outside ATMs. Many have long maintained conditions that say users must have a certain amount of money in their accounts or suffer a penalty.

And, this week, , with , announced it would begin charging $5 a month for the use of its debit cards. If you use it only to take money from the ATM (their ATM, mind you), there wouldn't be a fee. But, those late night trips to when you don't have cash? Those are gonna cost you.
