MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — The beautiful game will soon have a grand presence in Greater Morristown. The New York Red Bulls will develop their new training complex at the former Honeywell site in Morris Township, the team announced Wednesday.

The 80-acre site off Columbia Road will feature eight full-size outdoor soccer pitches and house the team's front-office staff. The Major League Soccer squad and their second-tier team — Red Bulls II — will utilize the complex. It will also become home to the New York Red Bulls Academy and Youth Training programs — North America's leading youth-soccer development system.

“We are excited that the New York Red Bulls are planning to make Morris Township their future home and looking forward to beginning the approval process with them,” said Mayor Jeffrey Grayzel. “The Red Bulls organization has done a tremendous job contributing to and supporting their local community and creating lifelong fans. We are pleased that the Red Bulls are considering Morris Township for their new facility.”

The Red Bulls announced the new site on a video featuring Conor Lade, a Morris Township native who played for the club from 2012-19. The video features several familiar sites around Greater Morristown:

Lade helped the team win three Supporters' Shields, which goes to the MLS squad with the best regular-season record. He now serves as the Red Bulls' senior manager of alumni and player relations.
