'Cupid's Chase 5K' Will Close Part Of Speedwell, Other Streets In Morristown Saturday

The race route will be closed to vehicle traffic from approximately 9:45 a.m. to 11 a.m., with closures rolling back as runners pass.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — A 5K race will affect traffic in part of Morristown on Saturday morning with road closures, town officials said.

Morristown is hosting the Cupid's Chase 5K in partnership with Community Options, a national non-profit organization which provides housing and job support to people with disabilities. These races are going on in several other New Jersey communities, and many across the country.

The race route will be closed to vehicle traffic from approximately 9:45 a.m. to 11 a.m., with closures rolling back as runners pass. Speedwell Avenue (Route 202) will remain open during the event.

The established running course will use the following roads:

  • Speedwell Ave.
  • Early St.
  • Mills St.
  • Sussex Ave.
  • Several streets in the Cutler Park neighborhood

Officials advise those traveling to Morristown from points west to use either Washington Street, or Lake Road to Burnham Road to Mill Road to access Speedwell Avenue.
